Police say the man, armed with a needle, entered BP Gas, located at 331 Farmingdale Road, and demanded cash from the clerk on Wednesday, March 13 around 2:20 p.m.
The clerk told him there was no money before taking the station’s cordless phone and walking out to the parking lot, according to police.
The robber then followed the clerk to the front of the station, grabbed the phone and threw it on the grass next to the building, police say.
The robber returned to the station and stole multiple packs of Newport cigarettes and multiple 100 Win $2 New York State Lottery scratch-off tickets (numbers 243 through 250) before fleeing on foot toward Eckert Avenue, according to police.
